GigaBoard
This is just one page of the board. You can also view the older and newer pages. Not to worry! This is the new format of the message board, but the old one is still here. As a matter of fact, even this message board is a bit of a beta test. If you have problems, just use the link above to go back to the older version. We'll get it taken care of!

You can always download the most current version from here. (Don't worry if CNet's information is a little out of date!) Also, though we think it's pretty darned unlikely, if you're convinced that you have to go back to the way things were, we still have the old V1.01.

I got good news for you...
remove your new giga version 1.58
install the old 1.01 version... your program icons are working now. If you want to keep most of the new functions:
do not remove the 1.58 version, but just install the old gigabar: CAREFULL, uncheck all boxes(but keep the one for "gigabar") when prompeted at initializing installation..... Greeting from Mex.

#27: can't get into the program
Posted by varaonaid on January 26, 2005 at 10:53:12 Back to Top
Hi!

I just downloaded and installed Gigabar 1.58 on my ppc 2003 and I'm having trouble with it. It installed just fine and I did a soft reset but when I go to programsgigabar and click on it, nothing happens. I can't get it to open! I've tried settingsgigabar and it opens just fine but i can't add additional icons through that method - just setup the one icon already there (clock only). Can someone please tell me what to do? I really want this to work! Thanks in advance.

You can of course supply your own skin. I don't know about the height, the width can be adjusted. (I did this once for landscape-format.)

I've got the same problem, a very narrow Gigabar, I thnink it is because my screen on my Loox 720 has a very high resolution, but is it possible to change this in Gigabar it would be great.

The X50 is 640x480.

The gigabar appears across the top very thin and only covers the top half of the Windows Mobile 2003 desktop iconbar.

Is there a way to make the gigabar twice as tall?

If you haven't done the reset you can try getting to task mgr and close background apps.

Gigabar is wonderful. I used in on my Nino, my Jornada 568 (fantastic machine by the way) and I just tried to install it on my Samsung I700. It installed ok but the the I700 is a cell phone built into a PDA. When you turn off the phone it won't answer calls, if you don't turn off the phone it is in the display all the time. I will try different things but if anyone else has done it and made it work well I would sure be grateful for advice about how to do that. I don't think I want a PPC without Gigabar.

#9: Gigabar causing unreliable alarms?
Posted by ElvisIncognito on September 30, 2004 at 11:58:58 Back to Top
For MONTHS I've been having problems with alarms (reminders) not sounding when they're supposed to... They go off, but the PPC (Toshiba e750) doesn't turn on. Only when I turn on the PPC do I see the reminder on the screen. "Gee," I say, "THAT would have been useful to me TWO HOURS AGO!"

Reminders is the NUMBER ONE thing that I use my PPC for. I'm ADD, so I DEPEND ON my PPC to help me remember all sorts of things. I finally got really frustrated and uninstalled all apps except for my absolute essentials- Agenda Fusion, Resco Explorer 2003 and Gigabar. Alarms STILL weren't working properly, so I uninstalled Gigabar. Seems to work fine, now.

#6: GigaPad update someday?
Posted by Backslash on September 27, 2004 at 11:53:16 Back to Top
Are there any plans for an update to GigaPad? It is the best text editor I have come across that is free. I can even open multiple copies! The only problem is the 64k limit; fix that and there will be no reason to use other text editors :-)

If there are no plans to update GigaPad, would you be willing to make it open-source?

How do you replace the question marks for program icons as the transient icons for v1.58. I have seen this question raised a couple times on the board but I have not seen a solution.

I have re-installed v1.58 with no avail and I am running an iPAQ 1945 on Win Mobile 2003.

Thank you for any advice that someone can give me.

#4: Re: No Clock on Gigabar
Posted by JLP on September 14, 2004 at 21:36:42 Back to Top
You might want to go to Start-Settings-System press Gigabar and the Icon area should display at least one item; if it doesn't, press-hold inside the list area and select "Add Icon" and then configure it as you like (select which "Action" then add a "Function" to it)

#3: No Clock on Gigabar
Posted by Craig on September 14, 2004 at 09:59:17 Back to Top
Help, I just installed the newest Gigabar on my Axim X30 but the clock that is supposed to be on the default Gigabar is not there. As I understand from the help page the initial funtionality is performed through the clock. Since my Gigabar doesn't have a clock my X30 is practically useless. Can someone give an idea of some things I can try.

Thanks
